“I love your book. Your work is phenomenal. This is a book that has so many useful techniques, strategies, understandings, principles—it should be given to every mother before they walk out of a hospital. People need what you have. This is kind of an owners-manual from God. It’s beautiful. This is one of the best parenting books I’ve ever read. Get this out there.”
The Chicken Soup For The Soul Series
The Kid Code, 30 Second Parenting Strategies is a wellbeing manual that offers parents one hundred simple strategies for ‘right now relief’ in an upset with their kids—because parents deserve a peaceful parenting experience and kids deserve a peaceful parent.
The book is an inspired ‘wise meets practical’ mix of plain-English self-inquiry methods, demystified eastern wisdom teachings and techniques, lessons from kids themselves, and uncommonly powerful ponderings that will take parents from chaos to calmness when they need it most.
Ellen Galinsky of the Families and Work Institute asked 1,000 kids, “If you had one wish about your parents, what would it be?” The kids said they wished their parents were less tired and stressed. Parents can’t enjoy parenting because of their stress levels and kids can’t enjoy their parents for the same reason.
The non-judgmental love aimed at parents and their kids, along with the profound effectiveness of the strategies - are compelling enough that once parents come to this work, they’re likely to stay
and recommend the book to their friends, start study groups, and get daily study buddies to talk over strategies during a cuppa’ instead of lamenting and worrying over problems!
Parents don’t want their kids to suffer, and yet research shows that our kids are suffering more now than ever. This contradicts the evolutionary law that our kids should be mentally, emotionally, and physically more developed than us. The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention says that there are 4.5 million kids in the US 3-17 years old diagnosed with behavioral problems. 4.4 million kids with anxiety. 1.9 million with depression. 6.1 million with ADHD. Those numbers tug at the heartstrings for the kids of today; where are they going to end up if they don’t have strategies that take them back to their joyful, wise, carefree nature?
And how are parents doing? Before the pandemic parents were suffering from stress. Now, the American Psychological Association, is ‘sounding the alarm’: “We are facing a national mental health crisis that could yield serious health and social consequences for years to come.”

In the heat of the moment, when there is an upset with a child, it’s hard for parents not to blow their tops. Blowing tops doesn’t help kids keep their own tops on, though, and isn’t towards anyone’s wellbeing. A parent’s dream of enjoying their children is a reality with these easy to remember and wildly effective strategies that work in 30 seconds! It just takes one strategy at a time, used on one upset at a time, until one day we notice our belly laugh is back and we’re not so easily drawn into stressful, useless fights.
